Cascade Medical acquires LOGE Leavenworth property

LEAVENWORTH — Cascade Medical Center has purchased the LOGE Leavenworth property, a move aimed at supporting a growing demand for services and easing parking constraints.

“This is an investment in care for our community,” said Cascade Medical CEO Diane Blake. “Because this property sits right next to our campus, it will allow us to grow thoughtfully while making it easier for people across the Upper Valley to access the care they need.”

LOGE Leavenworth closed March 4 as part of a broader downsizing by its parent company, which shuttered most of its locations this spring amid financial insolvency, according to reporting by the Flathead Beacon. The company did not respond for comment.

According to Cascade Medical spokesperson Katie Grove, the organization had been looking into ways to expand that would sustainably meet the increasing needs of a growing community, but options were limited. The sudden sale of the LOGE property was serendipitous.

“The planning for how we might do it has been in the works for some time,” said Grove. “The opportunity was surprising, and a great opportunity. It's very rare that a neighboring property becomes available.”

Plans for the site, including the future of existing structures, have not yet been finalized. However, the hospital is hopeful that the addition could expand in-demand services such as lab visits, behavioral health, community classes, support groups and physical therapy, said Grove.

“We're meeting the needs today—we have eliminated wait times to get into physical therapy, but we also know it's such a huge area of need that if we grew our actual facility for that department, that it would be utilized,” said Grove.

As the organization further evaluates potential uses for the space, one benefit will be immediately available: about 30 additional parking spaces for patients.

“This is an early but important step,” said Blake. “We are committed to careful planning and keeping our community informed as we move forward.”

Doghaus Brewery, which is located in the basement of the building, remains open and accessible via the courtyard.
