CASHMERE — The Cashmere Market has closed for the season, and there will be no market Sept. 30 or Oct. 7, Cascade Community Markets said.
The nonprofit that runs the market said it decided to end the season early because of lighter attendance and vendor turnout in recent weeks. Closing now lets farmers and vendors focus their efforts where they are most needed, the organization said.
Shoppers can still find local produce at the Leavenworth Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at Lions Club Park, through closing day Oct. 10. Several of the market's farmers also run farm stands or take online orders, the organization said.
Cascade Community Markets said it will review the season over the winter and welcomes comments at info@cascademarkets.org.
