Cashmere Farmers Market returns with new midweek schedule

Posted

CASHMERE — The Cashmere Community Farmers Market will return for its sixth season June 3 with a new midweek schedule, expanded food offerings and a continued focus on local farms and community gathering.

The market will now operate Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cashmere Museum Pavilion, a shift organizers say came directly from feedback gathered from customers and vendors during surveys conducted in summer 2025.

After receiving strong support for a weekday evening market, the organization’s board selected Wednesday in hopes of establishing a new midweek shopping tradition in the valley, creating a more convenient stop for residents looking to pick up fresh produce, locally made goods and ready-to-eat meals during the workweek.

This season’s market will include both returning and new vendors, with organizers emphasizing an increase in Washington-grown fruit, vegetables, berries and mushrooms, along with expanded prepared food offerings designed to provide fresh weeknight dinner options for local families.

Live music is planned throughout market hours, and organizers say the atmosphere is intended to encourage visitors to stay, eat and spend time with friends and neighbors. Monthly Kids Makers Market events are also planned during the season.

The market will continue accepting SNAP EBT benefits through the information booth and will again offer matching benefits up to $25 per day per card through support from Icicle Brewing Company and WaFd Bank. Multiple vendors will also accept Senior and WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefits.

Located at the Cashmere Museum Pavilion, the market is accessible by car, foot, bicycle or Link Transit bus service, with organizers noting the site is located directly along a Link Transit route and includes parking both in front of and behind the park.

The Cashmere market operates under Cascade Community Markets, a nonprofit organization focused on promoting health, sustainability and community connection by supporting local farmers and artisans throughout the valley.

Vendor applications remain open through August, with organizers currently seeking additional vendors offering baked goods, breads, dinner foods, berries, meat and eggs. Vendor applications and additional market information are available at cascademarkets.org.

Organizers are also encouraging residents to mark their calendars for the organization’s annual Farm to Table Dinner fundraiser Aug. 11 at Warm Springs Inn. The event will feature a six-course meal prepared by local chefs, paired with regional wines and sourced as heavily as possible from local farms and producers. The evening will also include live music and a silent auction.

Ticket sales for the fundraiser begin June 15 and organizers say the event typically sells out within a month. Proceeds from the dinner support the operation of local markets, with the first $5,000 raised directed toward grants supporting local market farms.
