CASHMERE — Community members will have an opportunity to support one of Cashmere's most recognizable historical attractions June 18 during a fundraiser aimed at improving infrastructure at the Cashmere Museum & Pioneer Village.
The event, titled "Help Fund an Irrigation Intervention," is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 18 at Yonder Cider, 111 Railroad Ave. Organizers hope to raise $15,000 to renovate the irrigation system serving the museum grounds and pioneer village.
The fundraiser will feature cider and food available for purchase, with donations accepted throughout the evening. Museum officials say the project will help preserve the appearance and condition of the village grounds while protecting historic structures from water-related issues.
The irrigation system plays a key role in maintaining the museum's outdoor campus, which includes historic cabins, exhibits and landscaped areas that welcome visitors throughout the year. Organizers are encouraging community members and local businesses to participate in the effort to ensure the site remains well maintained for future generations.
"Help keep the grass green, the flowers blooming, and the cabins dry," organizers said in promotional materials for the event.
Founded in 1955, the Cashmere Museum & Pioneer Village is dedicated to collecting, preserving and sharing the natural and cultural history of the region. Through exhibits, educational programming, tours and special events, the museum serves as a resource for residents and visitors interested in learning more about the people and stories that shaped the Wenatchee Valley.
In addition to individual donations, sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and community partners interested in supporting the project.
