CASHMERE — Applications are now being accepted for the 2027 Chelan County Fair Rodeo Queen competition.

Applications are due by 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28. Completed applications may be mailed or delivered to the Chelan County Fair Office, 5700 Wescott Drive, Cashmere.

Applicants must be between 17 and 23 years old, be attending high school or have recently graduated, reside in Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan or Grant counties, and have riding and horsemanship skills.

Contestants will compete in the Rodeo Queen Pageant on Saturday, Sept. 12, where they will be judged on a personal interview, horsemanship, modeling, speech presentation and impromptu questions.

The 2027 Chelan County Fair Rodeo Queen will be crowned during the Chelan County Fair Rodeo at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13.

The queen will receive sponsored awards, royalty accessories and other prizes while serving a one-year term as a goodwill ambassador for the Chelan County Fair and Rodeo. During her reign, she will represent the fair at community events, parades, rodeos, luncheons and public speaking engagements throughout the region.

Fair officials noted the rodeo queen program is separate from the Chelan County Fair Ambassador program. While ambassadors represent the fair at speaking engagements before and during the annual fair, the rodeo queen focuses on promoting the fair and rodeo through appearances and outreach. The rodeo queen and fair ambassadors work together throughout the year to promote the fair.

Applications are available through the Chelan County Fair. For more information, contact Rodeo Queen Coordinator Kate Redell.
