Posted

EAST WENATCHEE — A meet-up designed to foster connections between local farmers and school food service directors will take place on Monday, March 11, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Eastmont Community Center, located at 230 N. Georgia Ave.

The event, supported by the Washington State Department of Agriculture's market program, aims to share insights into successful farm-to-school partnerships. Attendees will gain access to valuable resources, information on grants, and regulatory guidance pertinent to the procurement of Washington's agricultural products by local schools.

This gathering presents an invaluable chance for local agriculturists to engage with potential buyers from schools, paving the way for enriching the local food ecosystem and supporting community-based agriculture.

Participants are encouraged to preregister for the event. For additional details, contact Margaret Viebrock of the WSU Extension at 509-745-8531 or via email at viebrock@wsu.edu.
