LEAVENWORTH — The final Upper Valley Empty Bowls event will take place Thursday, March 26, at the Leavenworth Festhalle, bringing the community together for an evening of food, art and fundraising in support of the Community Cupboard food bank.
The Community Soup Supper, the culminating event of this year’s Upper Valley Empty Bowls activities, will run in an open-house format from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Attendees can pick up bowls they glazed earlier this year while enjoying soup and bread donated by local businesses and served by volunteers.
Organizers said the event will feature one seating, allowing participants to come and go throughout the evening.
In addition to the supper, community members can support the food bank by participating in the Upper Valley Empty Bowls Online Artist Bowl Auction, which runs March 9–26. The auction features large, hand-painted bowls created by local artists, with proceeds benefiting the Community Cupboard.
Final bidding will close at the end of the soup supper on March 26. Attendees will also have the opportunity to bid on a large birdbath covered with a mosaic made from pieces of donated community soup bowls spanning 30 years of Upper Valley Empty Bowls events.
