Lake Wenatchee Rec Club seeks community support for annual Easter egg hunt

Posted

LAKE WENATCHEE — The Lake Wenatchee Rec Club has eggs-traordinary plans for its annual Easter egg hunt, and it is asking the community for help in reaching its goal.

This year, the organizers are aiming to prepare 6,000 eggs full of candy and surprises for the Easter egg hunt.

“Every dollar helps us create a fun, memorable day for our local families,” the organizers posted on Facebook.

The organizers are accepting monetary donations toward its egg and candy fund through Venmo, @lakewenatcheerecclub, with the memo labeled “Easter.” According to the Lake Wenatchee Rec Club, egg and candy donations, as well as cookies the week of the event, are also accepted. The organizers will be hosting planning meetings and egg stuffing parties leading up to the event, which are open to all members of the community.

The annual egg hunt is April 4, and is for kids 10 and under. The event is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. at the LWRC clubhouse, located at 14400 Chiwawa Loop Road. The event is put together in partnership with Plain Community Church, Ponderosa Social committee, and several other locals. The Lake Wenatchee Rec Club estimated 150 kids attended last year’s hunt.
