LEAVENWORTH — There are still a few more days to pick up some affordable used books from the Leavenworth Friends of the Library annual book sale, which is running now through Oct. 5.
The book sale is operating at the corner of 8th and Commercial Street, and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, and until 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It will be open from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, the last day of the sale. The tented outdoor book sale features hundreds of books, from gardening and cooking to fiction, biographies and more.
The annual used book sale is a longstanding tradition among Friends of the Library groups, helping raise money to support library programs and activities as well as providing affordable reading materials to the public. Proceeds from the Leavenworth book sale will directly benefit the Leavenworth Public Library.
Leavenworth is one of a handful of Friends of the Library book sales this fall that are supporting NCW Libraries. Other Friends of the Library groups will host book sales for Warden, East Wenatchee and Entiat libraries in the following weeks.
