Leavenworth honors former Design Review Board member

LEAVENWORTH – Former Design Review Board member Gary Day was honored for his time and dedication by the City Council on Sept. 10.

Day served on the Design Review Board for three years before recently stepping down. Mayor Carl Florea presented him with an honorary plaque.

“He stepped up, and has been just such a joy to work with. His passion for the Bavarian theme and for keeping it authentic in our downtown is just awesome. He was known to walk down and really get an eye on things before making decisions. He was a voice of reason. He

was always respectful of everyone's views, even when he disagreed, and would bring up very thoughtful comments. He's going to be very, very missed,” said Community Development Director Maggie Boles.
