LEAVENWORTH — The City of Leavenworth will host its spring Community Engagement Night on May 5, providing updates on upcoming and ongoing efforts by the city and community partners in an open-house style format.
The city has hosted these quarterly engagement nights since 2023 as an opportunity for residents and local business owners to share feedback, learn about upcoming projects, engage with staff, explore local services and resources, and connect with the community.
“In-person attendance has increased in the last 2 years, showing that these events are fulfilling their purpose,” said City of Leavenworth Executive Assistant Courtney Porter.
During the event, city staff will share information and answer questions about the 2026 Comprehensive Plan, parking programs, pool summer programs and passes, and upcoming and ongoing Public Works projects. Smaller tables will have “grab & go” information on city committee meetings, utility rates, and Front Street improvements. Chelan County Government will also have officials representing their projects, departments, or services, according to Porter.
The community event has become a high-demand opportunity for local nonprofits, service organizations, government agencies, and public entities to connect with the community, said Porter. As a result, the city has had to prioritize spaces for public safety and essential service partners first, then assign remaining spaces to groups representing a broad range of services and community interests.
“Demand has grown to the point that even after expanding to the maximum number of tables that comfortably fit in the Festhalle, we still maintain a waitlist and often reach capacity before the registration deadline,” said Porter.
The Community Engagement Night will take place from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. at the Festhalle, located at 1001 Front Street. Light refreshments will be provided.
