Letter to the Editor

The Artist Walter Graham’s white horses charging out of the mist on the panels formerly displayed at the Visitor Center/ Rocky Reach Dam were always a draw for visiting family and friends.

To me, putting Graham’s horses into a PUD high security area privatizes a local public art treasure.

Maybe the Tacoma architects didn’t know that generations of Central Washington citizens in school buses or family cars were proud of that display.

I hope our Chelan County PUD commissioners would appeal to the Tacoma architects to keep those beautiful horses coming out of the mist available for public viewing.
