LINK unveils historically themed bus design at NCW Fair

Posted

Second of eight designs inspired by the unique history, geology, people, and stories of North Central Washington debuted on Aug. 27 at the NCW Fair in Waterville, WA.

A public unveiling of the second in a new series of Link Transit vinyl bus wraps was released on August 27 during the NCW Fair in Waterville. The design, crafted by former Wenatchee resident and artist David C. Hoyt of Pullman, WA, features a series of historically themed vignettes representing Link Transit’s service area.

“We serve a region with a rich local history,” said Link General Manager Richard DeRock. “This latest design celebrates that history while highlighting the uniqueness of our communities.”

Link is working with Hoyt and the team of Mary Big Bull-Lewis and Rob Lewis at R Digital Design in Wenatchee to roll out a series of eight unique bus wrap designs. Unveilings are planned to coincide with community events held in Link Transit’s service area.

Additional themes pay tribute to the fruit industry, Clyde Pangborn’s historic transpacific flight, unique geological features and recreational opportunities in North Central Washington.

Link Transit, the public transportation provider for Chelan and Douglas counties, delivers safe, reliable and zero-fare service seven days a week to a 3,500-square-mile service area.
