Mane Event fundraiser to support equine therapy programs across North Central Washington

LEAVENWORTH —  The nonprofit organization Alatheia Center is partnering with Silvara Cellars to host an inaugural fundraiser, the Mane Event, on July 25.

Alatheia Center for Equine-Assisted Therapies is a nonprofit organization with a mission to change lives through the healing power of horses. Based in North Central Washington, the organization serves children and adults with disabilities, veterans and first responders across the region.

The Mane Event is the next evolution of the Little Black Dress event, the nonprofit’s annual fundraising tradition. Designed to welcome everyone, the Mane Event invites couples, friends, partners, colleagues, and neighbors for an elegant garden party featuring wine, connection and purpose. The evening will include valley views, local wine, food and live music by Bandits of the Animal Kingdom.

"We wanted to create an event that reflects who Alatheia is today," said Nancy Grette, Executive Director of Alatheia Center. "The Mane Event is welcoming, relaxed, and filled with opportunities to connect. It's an evening where people can enjoy great company while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve."

Proceeds from the benefit will support Alatheia’s three core programs: Therapeutic & Adaptive Riding for children and adults with disabilities, Warriors & Horses, which provides equine-assisted mental health services for veterans and first-responders, and Ranch Hands, which empowers adults with developmental disabilities through meaningful work, life skills, and community connection.

The Mane Event coincides with a major milestone for the organization, which is preparing to welcome participants to its new Sunnyslope campus. The transformational project is expected to nearly double Alatheia’s capacity to serve individuals and families throughout North Central Washington.

"Every ticket purchased represents more than an evening out," Grette said. "It represents hope, healing, independence, and the opportunity for more people to experience the extraordinary connection between horses and humans."

The Mane Event is scheduled for  6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 25 at Sivara Cellars, 77 Stage Road, Leavenworth. Event organizers encourage guests to embrace garden-party elegance or relaxed wine country attire and enjoy an evening among the community and the orchards.
