Margery Ellen Drake passed away in Tacoma WA at age 85 after a long illness.
Marge was a proud graduate and loyal alum of Lincoln High School in Seattle. She earned a degree in Mathematics at the UW and a Masters in Math and Computer Science at the University of Oregon. Working in the Bay Area, she was involved in the development of the computer language that still forms the backbone of technology we still use today. Her keen mind and sharp wit were always a memorable part of family gatherings.
Upon her retirement, Marge realized her lifelong dream of building a home on her family's property in Leavenworth. She found welcoming community at her church, the senior center, the S.A.I.L. program, and among her many kind and helpful neighbors.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Arline Drake of Leavenworth and Wenatchee. A memorial to her life will be held Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Church of the Nazarene in Leavenworth.
