LEAVENWORTH — Five city parking lots are undergoing various levels of construction to improve their grading, paving, and curbing conditions in an effort to improve safety and usability.
The City of Leavenworth announced that it had completed work and reopened the Enchantments and Freund lots, located on either side of Lions Club Park, on April 16. Work was originally scheduled to be completed earlier, but was briefly affected by a stretch of cold nights, wet weather, and asphalt plant delays.
Crews will return to both lots for finishing touches on April 29 and 30. From now until April 24, construction work will be completed on the Dragontail, Blewett and Parking Office lots. Although the Blewett lot is under consideration for a future parking garage, the city said current conditions warrant repair in order to “to provide a safe and accessible parking resource.”
The parking project is valued at $407,000.
