CHELAN – Only7Seconds, a nonprofit dedicated to ending youth loneliness, is celebrating its fifth anniversary by launching an ambitious awareness campaign: No More Lonely Youth. The campaign aims to revolutionize the approach to combating youth loneliness through intentional, meaningful connections.
Since its inception in 2019, Only7Seconds has been at the forefront of efforts to address youth loneliness. The organization believes that connection is not just the solution to loneliness but also a fundamental human need. With the launch of the No More Lonely Youth campaign, Only7Seconds is redoubling its efforts to create a world where every young person feels a sense of belonging.
"We've listened to countless stories of lonely youth feeling unseen and unheard, grappling with anxiety, bullying, depression, and tragically, even suicide," says Luke Wall, Executive Director at Only7Seconds. "We've witnessed the pain and loss caused by loneliness, and we've had enough. It's time for a connection revolution. Join us in ending youth loneliness."
The No More Lonely Youth campaign will activate 10,000 participants, crowdsource $100,000, and amplify stories of experiences with loneliness. The campaign launched on May 2, coinciding with Mental Health Awareness Month, and runs through the end of Loneliness Awareness Week on June 14.
"We envision a world where young people thrive through meaningful connections, where they understand the value of intentional relationships and feel equipped to build them," adds Wall. "We need communities that foster connection, resources for adults to connect with youth, and your support to make it happen. It will take all of us. Join us because our future depends on it."
