Peshastin Library Ice Cream Social set for Saturday

Posted

PESHASTIN—The Friends of the Peshastin Library will host an Ice Cream Social on Saturday, July 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. on the library lawn.

Though the library is temporarily closed and in the middle of an extensive remodel, the social will continue to be celebrated on the library lawn. The Friends of the Peshastin Library have put on the ice cream social for more than 50 years.

“Bring a dessert and come visit with your friends and neighbors while enjoying cake, pie, and cookies along with ice cream donated by The Peshastin Market, coffee from Starbucks and punch for the kids,” the friends of the library said.

The Saddle Rockers, featuring Dave Notter, Bruce McWhirter, Megan Cleary, Curt Soper, and Chris Rader, will perform throughout the evening.

The Peshastin Volunteer Fire Department will take kids for rides on the fire truck. There will be a bouncy house set up on the front lawn, along with carnival games and the traditional Cake Spin.

Adults and kids can browse the used book sale during the evening.

“Please come and support the Peshastin Library,” the friends group said. “This is the library’s main fundraising event of the year so remember to bring your checkbook or your money.”

According to the Friends of the Peshastin Library, an additional capital campaign will follow the library's opening at the end of August to help raise money for unexpected structural repairs to the building. More details will be available when the library reopens.
