Ronald A. Hill Sr.

Ronald Arvid Hill Sr. was born 11-02-1937 to Earl Arvid Hill and Wilma Ingrid Nikko. He grew up in Issaquah Washington and graduated from Issaquah High School in 1955, where he participated in band and played baseball as a catcher.

He married Anita Jessalyn Peterson in 1958 residing in Seattle and worked as a Pipefitter by trade. They had three children, Joanna, Jessalyn and Ron II.

The family moved to Leavenworth in 1971 where he continued in his trade. He later worked and retired from the Cascade School District. After retirement he worked at various places utilizing his equipment operating experience.

He married Marion Harrington in 1988. They enjoyed participating in the Royal Bavarians for many years in numerous roles, attending and hosting many festivals in Leavenworth and throughout the Pacific Northwest. They enjoyed traveling in their RV and had many adventures. A trip to Germany and Finland was a highlight as Dad was very proud of his Finnish heritage.

Ron was active in recreational baseball throughout his life as he was able. He served in the US Navy Seabees in Port Hueneme California for four years. He was a lifetime member of the King County Fire District #11 in Seattle. He also volunteered for the Leavenworth Fire Department for several years, and the Chelan County Sheriff’s Posse. He loved being busy working on projects ‘fixing’ and ‘building’ things. He had many projects on the back burner.

He is survived by his daughter, Joanna, son Ronald (Stacy). Grandchildren and great grandchildren: Talia (James) Tupling; Raymond (Anne) Tupling, Frank and Hazel; Randall (Jenna) Tupling, Will and Wade. Seth (Krista) Davis, Cole and Paisley.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife Marion, daughter Jessalyn Davis, and grandson Daniel Tupling.

A Celebration of Life is planned for later in the fall.
