Steven Leo Zimmerman of Leavenworth, Washington, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, due to an aggressive brain tumor. He was 72 years old.
Steve is survived by his wife of 54 years, Teri Zimmerman; his daughters, Amber Zimmerman and Shila Reeves; his three granddaughters; his sisters, Mary Horn and Nit Noi Thomas; and his brother, Lyle Zimmerman.
Steve was born on August 25, 1953, in Bothell, Washington, to Leo and Janice Zimmerman. He married his high school sweetheart, Teri, and together they built a life centered on family, creativity, hard work, and community.
A master stained-glass craftsman, donut maker, woodworker, inventor, motorcycle enthusiast, storyteller, dog lover, and lover of music and the outdoors. In recent years, Steve was known for Papa Z’s mini donuts in the Leavenworth area. Steve, alongside Teri, owned and operated Sundance Art Glass and Silvermoon Art Glass for many years, creating custom stained-glass artwork and mentoring many employees who learned the trade under his guidance. His skill and dedication left a lasting impression on those who worked with him.
Steve and Teri's home in Plain became a gathering place for friends and family. Many parties and potlucks reflected Steve's generous spirit, his love of bringing people together. Steve's greatest pride was his family, and he leaves behind a legacy of creativity and friendships that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
