LEAVENWORTH — The Tierra Learning Center has appointed three new members to its board of directors, the organization announced last week.

William Joyce, Gustavo Montoya and David Vey will join the board, bringing varied experience and perspectives to support Tierra’s mission of empowering people of all abilities to lead meaningful lives.

Joyce, a parent of a Tierra participant, brings what the organization described as a valuable perspective into the needs and interests of parents of individuals with special needs. Montoya, who lives with a disability, will contribute insights that Tierra said will strengthen its inclusive and person-centered approach. Vey has long been a supporter of Tierra and has a record of fostering collaboration and community growth.

“We are thrilled to have William, Gustavo, and David join our Board,” said Meeche White, executive director of Tierra Learning Center. “Their skills, perspectives, and dedication will play an important role in shaping our future and ensuring that we continue to provide meaningful opportunities for the people we serve.”

The appointments come as Tierra expands its programs in residential living, employment services, and educational and recreational opportunities. The organization said the new members’ leadership will help strengthen its mission and deepen its impact across North Central Washington.

Founded with a focus on empowering people with developmental challenges, Tierra Learning Center offers an Adult Family Home, employment services, and a wide range of educational and recreational programs. The center emphasizes personal choice, dignity and celebrating individual achievements.
