Wellness Place presents "A Mindset of Meaning" educational class Oct. 8

WENATCHEE - This class is designed for, and is free for cancer patients, cancer survivors, or caregivers and loved ones of a cancer warrior.

Registration is required. The class will be held Saturday, October 8, 1-4 p.m., for an afternoon of learning how to cultivate tools to support meaning and well-being.

Topics:

Cultivate Connection- Open hearted approach to harmonious & consistent optimal breathing, grounding, and mindful movement, Wellness Plan prep.

Nutrition: Wellness Mindset- Overview of tasty Abundance Bowls & Gratitude Bowls for ease of anti-inflammatory whole foods prep, rotation, variety, and maximizing nutrition.

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Experience- Learn about and experience the gold standard Body-Mind Awareness curriculum, developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in 1979, by Jon Kabat-Zinn---Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Together we will learn to reduce stress and enhance health and well-being. By design this course empowers participants to take an active role in the management of their health and wellness.

Sleep Hygiene- High quality sleep is vital for healing and feeling & being well. An arsenal of practices for getting the invaluable sleep you need.

Presented by:

Dr Chandra Villano, ND is a Naturopathic Physician and Exercise Physiologist. She has clinical specialty in whole foods nutrition and green living; she is passionate about neuroscience, the endocannabinoid system, mindfulness, and cancer survivorship. She seeks to nurture our responsibility for vibrant health, personally and globally.

Kari Lyons-Price, MSW is a fully certified MBSR teacher and offers the 8-week program, two times a year.

Wellness Place is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and we give compassionate support and free resources to individuals, their families, and caregivers through their cancer journey, from diagnosis to survivorship, for those residing in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan counties.
