Wildfire preparedness town hall set May 6 in Leavenworth

LEAVENWORTH — The Chumstick Wildfire Stewardship Coalition will hold its annual town hall focused on wildfire preparedness May 6 at the Snowy Owl Theatre.

The event, titled “Are We Ready for Wildfire?”, will feature a keynote presentation by Hilary Franz, who currently serves as president and CEO of American Forests.

According to event materials , the program is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the theater, located at 7409 Icicle Road. A community happy hour and partner information booths will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by Franz’s keynote presentation from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

A panel discussion with federal, state and local partners is scheduled from 7:45 to 8:30 p.m.

Organizers state the annual town hall is intended to provide an opportunity for community members to engage with agencies and partners, share concerns and receive information related to wildfire preparedness.
