LEAVENWORTH — The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will repave a stretch of US-2 near Coles Corner starting July 14.
The project will stretch from milepost 78, west of the junction of US-2 and State Route 97, to milepost 89, near Chiwaukum Creek Trailhead. Contract crews will resurface the highway’s driving lanes to prevent further deterioration. They will also perform bridgework at milepost 81, near Nason Creek.
Travelers should expect single-lane closures and flagger-controlled traffic with a pilot vehicle during working hours. The road work will take place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 14. Beginning July 15, the work will shift to night hours to minimize interference with a slope-stabilization project at mileposts 60 and 98, which is scheduled to commence on the same day. Night work will occur from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
The project is expected to finish mid-October.
