On Monday, December 19, the Greater Leavenworth Museum welcomed its 10,000th visitor for 2022. Patti McGaughey, the museum staff’s lead volunteer, greeted Marisa Lin and Tim Wu from Vancouver, B.C., with a set of three books from the museum’s store and a promise to post their photo on the museum’s Facebook page, which they did. If you haven’t seen the museum yet, this is a perfect time. Whether you’ve been in the valley for generations or are new to the area, the Greater Leavenworth Museum does a fantastic job of sharing our region’s unique history and telling the story of how we became known worldwide as a Bavarian village. If you mention you’re a local, your admission is free through January 2. Photo by Matt Cade
