Roy Lee Parton, 85, died Sunday, September 25, 2022. Roy was born in Pateros, WA. on November 6, 1936, to Bernard and Zelma Parton. In 1941, his family moved to Leavenworth, WA. where he attended school and graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1955. Roy entered the U.S. Army, where he served in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1962 after two years active duty in addition to serving in the Army Reserves. On September 20, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart, Fay Jones in Leavenworth. He then attended the University of Washington for 2 years before he and Fay moved back to the valley briefly before moving to Medford, OR., where he hauled logs and they enjoyed

participating in a sports car club with road racing. In 1967, he moved his family back to Leavenworth where he continued to own and operate a trucking business for 50 years. Roy was active in sports and enjoyed watching his sons play. He was a hard worker and taught his sons to have a

strong work ethic. He enjoyed hunting with family and friends. Roy will be remembered for his quiet nature and kind smile. He loved his family and enjoyed being a grandfather and great grandfather. That is his legacy. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, his sister, Imojean Martensen, his sons, Doug and wife Lona, and Darrell and wife Lisa; 6 grandchildren, Kellen and Evan Parton, Noelle Swenson, Hilary Osborn, Hunter and Britton Parton, along with 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Zelma Parton; sister, Irene Housden and brother, Hugh Parton. We would like to thank Mountain Meadows for the tremendous care and compassion they gave Roy over the past 10 months. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Roy’s memory to Mountain Meadows, 320 Park Avenue, Leavenworth, WA 98826.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Leavenworth, followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at the Leavenworth Fire Department at 12 noon.
