William A. “Bill” Taylor
October 3, 1932-January 25, 2023
On January 25, 2023, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, William A. “Bill” Taylor, went home to the angels, surrounded by his large and loving family at his home.
Bill was born in New Meadows, Idaho on October 3, 1932, to Ora and Vera Taylor and was the youngest of 8 children. The family eventually moved to Leavenworth, WA.
In May 1953, Bill married Maxine Gault (Rowles), and raised 3 children; Dixie Taylor (Gough) of Leavenworth, William “Billy” Taylor of Missouri, and Don Taylor of Bothell, WA.
In 1956, Bill married Carolyn “Connie” Wilcox of Leavenworth, and a girl, Beth Taylor (Temple) of Cashmere, joined the family. In April of 1973, Bill married Lourdes Castro of Dryden and brought 4 more children to the family; Louaine Taylor (Whaley) of Leavenworth, Michael Taylor of Leavenworth, Leah Taylor of Leavenworth, and Leeland Taylor of Okanogan, WA.
After meeting his soulmate, Edna Oliver of Dryden, Bill, and Edna married on August 15, 1980, and another 3 children were added to the family: Steven Potter of Seattle, WA, Ronald Potter of Arizona, and Angel Potter of Okanogan, WA.
Bill worked for Jack Pine Logging in his early years and then the Washington State Dept. of Transportation until his retirement in 1995. Anyone who knew Bill, knew that he was one of the most caring and kind-hearted man to family, friends, and strangers alike.
He is survived by his 11 children, 28 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Vera Taylor, siblings; Wilma Brender, Delpha Parker, Eva Larsen, Edith Parker, Devona Haviland, Theodore “Ted” Taylor, Don Taylor, and his wife, Edna Taylor.
Bill’s passing will leave a void in many lives, but he also left a legacy of acceptance and love that will continue to live on.
A memorial service will be held for Bill and Eddie Taylor in the spring at Cashmere Cemetery in Cashmere, WA. on May 19 at 10 a.m., thereafter a potluck at Dixie Gough's home in Leavenworth. The address is 12670 Chumstick Hwy. Leavenworth, WA.
