Leavenworth Planning Commission to host public hearing on development regulation updates

Posted

LEAVENWORTH — The Leavenworth Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Wednesday, Nov. 4, on proposed changes to development regulations.

The Planning Commission was tasked with reviewing and proposing changes to the city’s development regulations as part of its 2026 docket of priorities. The 2026 Development Regulation Update is required by the state within six months after the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan Update, which occurred on Oct. 27.

Some of the changes are in compliance with state mandates, including amendments to address housing needs, while maintaining Leavenworth’s character and design standards.

According to the Planning Commission agenda, the public hearing will be followed by a staff presentation to the commission, another open hearing for public comment, then a motion for a vote and discussion.

If the Planning Commission approves the draft, it will be recommended to the Leavenworth City Council for adoption.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, with an option to join via Zoom. More information can be found on the City of Leavenworth’s website.
