Wenatchee Library and Wenatchee River Institute continue Bird Walk program

Posted

LEAVENWORTH – The Wenatchee Library and the Wenatchee River Institute will continue hosting the Bird Walk event series this summer, offering community members an opportunity to learn about local bird species while exploring the outdoors.

The next walk will take place on Wednesday, July 8 at 10 a.m. and will run until 11:30 a.m.

Participants will meet at the Walla Walla Point Park playground before setting out on a guided walk along the Columbia River. A librarian and a Wenatchee River Institute educator will lead the program, helping attendees identify local bird species and learn about their habitats and behaviors. Binoculars will be available for participants to borrow during the event.

Organizers encourage attendees to come prepared for outdoor conditions by bringing water and sunscreen. Advance registration is recommended to allow organizers to plan accordingly.

The Bird Walk series combines outdoor recreation with environmental education and is designed for birders of all experience levels, from first-time participants to seasoned enthusiasts.

The Wenatchee Library, part of the North Central Washington Libraries system, regularly offers educational and community programs for all ages. The Wenatchee River Institute provides environmental education, stewardship opportunities and outdoor experiences throughout the year, including youth camps, workshops, and volunteer programs.
